Kaspersky products have always come out as one of the best on the occasions the computer mags do a review. I've been using them for a few years now with no known malware/viruses getting through undetected. The best thing about the 2009 version is that once it is installed and activated by the product code on the disc - you can then download and install the 2011 version from the Kaspersky website, and your subscription is upgraded to this latest version for free.

I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 for over a year now and I have to say, I am extremely impressed with it. I haven't used all of the anti-virus/internet security products out there, but out of the one's I have seen and used (there's quite a few), this is the best, by a clear mile.
Firstly, and most importantly, the product's ability to detect viruses and other malicious software is extremely good. It is known for detecting malware that other vendors' solutions miss completely, and I experienced this myself. When I first used Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, it immediately detected a worm on my memory stick, which Norton 360 missed completely. It has also protected me from drive by downloads and key loggers on my system.
The interface is very clear and pleasant, making the product simple to use. The bar at the top of the interface is colour coded for simple understanding of your computer's security status: it uses a traffic light colour system to indicate the computer's condition.
The product is laid out and organised exceptionally well, which makes everything very easy to find.
The menus within the product are absolutely wonderful. You can customise almost everything about the application, from setting automated scanning, to introducing password protection, to what notifications are displayed, and even the choice of whether scheduled scans run when working from battery power (when using laptop computers). The only downside of this, is that users who just want to install and use a product right out of the box might find that the settings are not to your liking and can be quite complex to change, but for someone like me who loves tweaking everything and feeling fully in control of an application, it's brilliant.
Scan speeds are very fast, and updates are very regular. It does state that the product updates hourly, but in my experience, they occur about once every two to three hours, but is still the most frequent I have ever seen in a product like this, and that's a crucial factor in keeping your computer's protection up-to-date.
I thoroughly recommend Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, I cannot praise this product enough. I did try Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 too, but was somewhat disappointed, as it took nearly three hours to complete a full scan of my system, when Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 usually takes less than 45 minutes. The safe run feature in the 2010 version also disappointed me as it was extremely unstable, and my operating system is fully compatible with safe run.
Overall, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 is the best internet security product I have ever used. I really feel that my computer is fully protected. Don't be put off by the year 2009 in the title, this software is up-to-date protection for any computer, and having tried the 2010 software, I much prefer the 2009 version, in almost every aspect.
Finally, please note that 2009 licenses can be used with 2010 and 2011 versions of Kaspersky software, it isn't necessary to purchase a new license, you can just download an update file from Kaspersky's website. Also, I bought this product specifically to use as my existing 2009 license is about to expire, and saved myself roughly £28 by purchasing a new license this way. On one final note, the 2009 versions of the software do not work on Windows 7, only 2010 and 2011 versions work on Windows 7, but 2009 versions work absolutely fine on Windows XP and Windows Vista (as do 2010 and 2011 versions).

I've used Kaspersky for a number of years now, despite trying other products but I keep going back to it. Its fairly lightwight in that it doesnt slow the PC down to a crawl like some other vendors software. As much as I bought the 2009 version, download the more current version from the web and you key works. Minimal configuration is required as out of the box it just works, and it checks whats installed to see if it likes it, or knows it first.
I would recommend it those who just need a solution out of the box as its easy, but for those who want more it does appear to be configurable to the nth degree.
Overall a solid purchase.

A muct have. Its all you need for your computer's safety! Has antivirus, firewall, even has a virtual keyboard to protect you from keyloggers! And all that at a bargain price!
