This is a decent camping kettle, which is also fine for temporary use in the home. Eg. We used it on our gas stove when we had the electricity switched off due to the electrics being done, however I wouldn't recommend it for long term daily use due to the light nature and tin-ie feel. My parents have a heavier more substantial one they use daily and cost a lot more new and I would reccommend one of these for every day. This however is absolutely fine for camping and good for intermittant use. Does what a kettle does +/- the whistle if you want it.

The 1.8litre kettle is alright. It boils water, whistles, lightweight. removable lid. all good. However if you're buying this because you want a 2 litre kettle, please note that its only 1.8 litres. If you do want a 1.8 litre kettle then this will definately do the job and doesn't break the bank. Its not so sturdy that it will last a life time, but at this price what can you expect. I'm quite certain it will last several years, by which time most of us get the bug to upgrade anyway!

i bought it to boil on a wood burning stove and it boils on the woodburner but it does not whistle.
