Awesome August 31, 2010 spiderboy (United Kingdom) If like me you started running a year ago and aspire to go faster, you may have thought about a running watch. I have only owned one of these gizmos and it is the 305. It has been by best purchase for years. I am fixated by numbers, so perhaps it is no surprise that I do go faster and maintain my pace using this watch but what I like about this is that you can set the display to record upto 8 pieces of data (pace, average pace, distance, time, %heart rate etc etc) and organise them so that you can see them easily over two screens. The associated software is pretty good too. There are a few downsides however, in that the watch heavy, the strap isn't that comfortable even after swapping straps, and the battery only lasts up to 10 hours. If you buy a cheap sweat band and strap the watch over it, the strap associated problems disappear. Just remember to charge it up before you venture out on one of those long marathon runs. Buy one, you won't regret it.
Garmin Forerunner an aide to jogging August 29, 2010 Dr. A. Kennedy (IRELAND) This is a must for anyone serious about jogging as a fitness aid. Would reocmmend to a person serious about road running as a help to assess their progress fitness wise.

Invaluable August 23, 2010 Mr. S. Blakeney (UK) Great gadget, couldn't run without it now! Started using it for cycling too and it's great at both..
The size doesn't bother me at all - I think it's a price worth paying to have a large and clear screen! And obviously, this is the (almost) the cheapest Garmin you can get (it's definitely worth the extra £15-20 over the 205) and it supports the cadence sensor for anyone who cycles too!
The bundled software is embarrassingly bad, but I personally use the Garmin Connect website which is very clear and well presented and easy to share with your friends! You can also export to Google Earth and go on a fly round your route which is always fun!
Garmin Forerunner 305 August 23, 2010 sean I've been using this bit of kit now for about 6 weeks on a daily bases. It is great! so easy to use. Gps signal very good, i found that i was still getting a signal in the house after 20 minutes. Up loading your data on to the computer is an added bonus.
Easy to use and useful training tool August 18, 2010 Raffle101 (London) An invaluable training tool. Easy to set up either on the unit or from the PC based Garmin Training centre. Nice light weight unit and plenty of zones to set with insistent alerts to help you make the most of your run. Highly recommended.
