4 out of 5 stars Useful for motorhome owners   August 11, 2010

Nice and easy to use after struggling with 12V units this pumps up my motorhome tyres to 5.5 Bar with no trouble at all. The air hose is a bit short but still reaches the top of a big tyre, the mains cable is a bit short too but unless you are in a garage you would need and extension lead anyway. Built-in pressure gauge was pretty accurate at 5.5 Bar. Nice case.

No longer will you end up with one leg muscle bigger than the other, really good to use and quick too. Easy instructions and can be used for lots of different objects.

3 out of 5 stars Would have happily paid more for one with a useful gauge....   June 6, 2010

Brought this because of all the negative comment on the reliability of the battery powered pumps. Generally happy with it although I would would quite happily have paid slightly more for one with a useful gauge....this one is next to useless. Come on Ring, a quality gauge about double the size and with a bleed button between the gauge and valve adaptor would make this a brilliant buy.

I purchased this tyre inflator after reading reviews from trade press, etc. The item arrived on time and in good condition. I have used it on my car and caravan tyres and as expected the gauge is not accurate but sufficient to increase pressure by a given amount. Other than that the inflator is well constructed and easy to use, the storage case provided is well made and appears to be of a durable material. Knowing that the gauge would not be accurate within legal parameters I also purchased the Ring RAC 150 digital tyre pressure gauge from Amazon at a very competitive price.

3 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the tin   May 27, 2010

It pumps air into things.... and that's it, really.

It's not terribly exciting, it's quite expensive for what it is, and you certainly wouldn't get any brownie points from your missus for buying one for her Christmas present, but the good news is it does what it's supposed to do very much better than the generally worse-than-useless array of 12v DC "plug it into the cigarette lighter socket" pumps.

Other observations:

1. I'd expected it to be quicker than it is, having read all the guff about inflating tyres in seconds, but it's not bad.
2. The inflation hose would ideally be about 30cm longer.
3. You can skin the back of your finger very handily while cramming the hose or mains cable back into the storage "holes". Don't ask me how I know this.
