Well blow me! March 5, 2010 C. Cornfield 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used to have an old inflator which i used mainly for inflating camp beds when on camping trips which has long since broken down and I've used a manual pump.
My neighbour recently inflated my bike tyres with his digital inflator which came with his mini and I thought that it would suit so I ordered this product.
Its very impressive and I cannot believe the low cost.
It comes with 2 adapters one for the all important camp bed, one for footballs etc and the standard attachment for screwing on to car tyres which suits my needs perfectly. It also has its own padded carry case to keep it clean and free from damage.
All of the cables, adapters all clip on or fit in to the body of the inflator and its well designed.
No more driving round the local petrol stations to find their machines out of order. By the time you do this a few times its paid for itself never mind the improved fuel economy of having your tyres correctly inflated.
good little package..... March 2, 2010 M. J. Passley (england uk) excellent little inflator, bought this on the strength of the positive reviews and it doesn't disappoint, the power cord is a good length though fiddly to put back in the unit, good screw on connector for an airtight seal, presets for your pressures on a lcd display, quite a bright led light on it, does a great job for a small unit... highly recommended!
Digital Tyre Inflator February 22, 2010 Mr. Anthony Donald After a false start, the first one sent was faulty as it didn't show any readings or stop at the right pressure, BUT after contacting Amazon they sent me a replacement within two days and I got a freepost returns label in the deal so now I'm very happy with the replacement and the way Amazon dealt with me.
2nd one I've bought. February 22, 2010 Mr. Geoffrey C. Brown (London) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a Michelin inflator previously that was hopeless. The connector for the valve was a "clip on" attachment with a lever to depress the valve centre. It was difficult to work and eventualy gave up altogether! The first review I read of these mentioned similar experiences. THIS inflator has a screw on connector. Not as quick BUT IT WORKS!
The unit comes in a smart zipped nylon carry case with a pocket for the instructions and it's small so can be placed in side pockets in your boot (if you have them). It's easy to use and reasonably quick for a small unit. I was so impressed with the first one I bought, I got a second for my daughter's car. It has three readings settings PSI, BAR, KPa and automatically over inflates slightly to compensate for any loss removing the connector. The 12volt connector is adequate for most family cars and the pressure hose is a good length with fabric covering. Both cable and hose stow neatly within the unit and the torch feature (with usual flash facility) is excellent.
Why ony 4 stars? Well the Michelin Unit that I had previously "looked the part" but as it turned out failed completely fairly quickly. This looks a better build and is definitely a better design but, like insurance, I haven't had to use them much since I had them. It may not keep you fit like a foot pump ....but when it's dark and pouring with rain the torch and automatic inflation feture will beat the aerobics!
With Air pumps at Service stations being either coin operated or out of order this will always be a worthwhile investment. Used regularly for minor top ups these shpuld last for ages.
A very useful and useable machine, good value February 19, 2010 Mike (Hampshire, UK) This is a well-designed unit, and it's also well-constructed as far as I can judge. It comes in a neat carry case which makes keeping everything together in the car boot very easy.
It took me only a couple of minutes to get the inflator out of the box, hooked up to the car, and working. A particularly good feature is the way the hose screws onto the valve on the car's wheel. This is an easier connection to make, and lets out very little air when connecting and disconnecting.
The inflator has a "default" setting of 30 psi: I need to set 33 psi front & 30 rear, so topping up manually is rapid. There's an "auto" setting as well for longer inflation. I don't find the machine especially noisy in action.
Topping up all five tyres (don't forget the spare, if you have one) takes me just a few minutes with this, plus a lot less effort than a foot pump, which is welcome. Recommended.
