Absolutely brilliant!January 7, 2009 Martin Capewell(Uttoxeter) Absolutley hilarious, the new king of stand-up comedy releases his first dvd. Not only is it hilarious, with posh people describing how they're drunk (I'm completely bungalowed!) being a particular highlight, but it's also extremely good value for money. The stand up itself is longer than usual routines, (about 1 and a half hours)but it also comes with his brilliant routine at the Apollo. Completely recommended for everyone
Amazingly funnyJanuary 6, 2009 L. Lee(Dorset) Watched this with my teenage daughter and my own mum and all three generations thought it was really funny, nothing cringeworthy in it like many other comedians. Thoroughly entertaining and funny and was left saying ea ea ea ea ea in a geordie accent all day - brilliant.
Thank God for Michael McIntyreJanuary 3, 2009 Emma Corry(Donegal) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have loved this guy since I first saw his live at the apollo gig a year or so ago. Pure genius. Unlike other celebrated standups like tommy tiernan etc, his comedy does not come from his head being lodged so far up his rear that he has to shout swears as loud as he can in order to get a laugh. I like my comedians funny, if you do to, this is the dvd for you!
Great observational humourJanuary 2, 2009 J. Minogue(UK) If you didn't get this for Christmas get it now - at 7 it's an absolute bargain as Live at the Apollo is thrown in too and it makes good family watching.
Michael McIntyre does observational humour on day to day life with short surreal flights of fancy. He's much less surreal than Eddie Izzard but similar in terms of observational humour. So we have the gender humour - what is in the man drawer and what is in the attic that men love so much? children's first words and the one-up-man-ship around them....the banal made funny.
He delivered a long set with great energy, pacing the stage throughout. He has an infectious smile and humour and uses his body in his comedy. I see here that some reviewees have found it all too middle class...well I guess I'm his target demographic....I find him very funny indeed.

Having watched mock the week, and seen Michael McIntyre on the panel show i was looking forward to this stand-up dvd. When i put in the dvd i was subject to a very dull and linear performance. Get Russel Howard's new dvd or Bill Bailey 'Tinselwood' dvd Much better and consistently funny.
